Full-view please.
Lego Set 10030. I think this is the biggest set there is but i could be wrong. Took a while to build and not nearly enough to render. Planning on re-render at 2000ish resolution as there is way too much detail that your missing out on. Also going to do a couple more views of it too. Had to take out a whole bunch of pieces that the viewer is never going to see so that took down the polycount considerably enough that my compy wouldn't blow up if i tried to view the model.
I'm not quite sure about it this one but it looks to me i might not have the proportions from 3D-Real correctly set, so i'm gonna see if i can take a couple of reference pics sometime just to check.
Scene Statistics : 2,641,023 polygons 1 hour 13 mins to render using Vray v1.05
That's a render? Great lighting then. I always find it difficult to get that right with plastic. Only real drawback I can see is there's not Lego logo on the studs, although that would increase the poly count massively it would really make it seem that much more real.
Your ship is awesome. I've been working on my own and I can't get the engines to glow right. BTW Lego.com has the Falcon as the biggest set with the Second Death Star or this IDS in second.
lolz yeh... took too long. It's a bit tricky on choosing which ones to remove tho as i've done a couple of shots of it (tho not uploaded yet... i wanna get some sort of flash slideshow thing going first i think) at different angles like low shots, rear, side, etc.. and it takes a while just to rotate the view coz of how many polys it is anyway. I'm kinda wary of culling some bricks here and there also just coz it's gonna end up affecting the lighting in some ways too.
Remove all the blocks you cant see and im sure youll get rid of at least 1.5 mil of the polys
happy times.
